Asus just accidentally leaked AMD’s next-gen Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs

It appears that Asus may have jumped the gun. A website for one of the company’s motherboards appears to be promoting the unannounced AMD 9000X3D chips before their official announcement.

The X3D chips are considered the top-of-the-line consumer CPUs, offering the greatest value for your money. Despite this, we highly recommend sticking with the previous generation Ryzen 5800X3D.

Despite the lukewarm reception of AMD’s newly launched 9000 series CPUs, references to the X3D variant can still be found throughout the website’s code and URL, courtesy of Asus.

Initially uncovered by momomo_us, it is evident that Asus is getting ready for the launch of Team Red.

The website is exclusively focused on the upcoming “AI”motherboards, X870E and X870, which are both part of the AM5 series and will be launched under various Asus brands.

If Asus is already making preparations in advance, this will result in the launch happening much earlier than anticipated. Moreover, it will align with Intel’s 15th-generation launch.

AMD X3D being referenced in code

The X3D chips are not directly mentioned on Asus’ website, but can be found in the HTML code by right-clicking and selecting the option to view the page source.

Despite the report of the mistake on August 20, the site has not been updated to remove the references.

AMD’s X3D chips feature a notably extensive cache, allowing the CPU to surpass the typical capabilities of the chipset. This impressive feat is achieved through the implementation of 3D V-Cache, where chiplets are physically stacked on top of each other to increase the overall size.

The AMD Ryzen 9000 chips have not been well received so far. In Digital Foundry’s review, it was discovered that the non-X3D CPUs were outperformed by the previous generation X3D models.

Team Red is scheduled to reveal a variety of new products at its event on October 10th. However, there are rumors suggesting that the X3D chips will not be included in the announcement, as the focus will primarily be on business-oriented products.
