In Atomfall, there are various methods to obtain the Signal Redirector; however, this guide focuses on the traditional questline approach.
Step 1: Locating June’s Key
Your journey begins with a search for a key that unlocks access to critical notes. Regardless of whether you activate the helpful quest markers, finding the key requires keen observation of your surroundings. Start in Wyndham Village, where the tale begins with the closure of June’s Little Tea Room due to Protocol forces. The Tearoom is adjacent to the pavilion in the town square and appears boarded up and abandoned.
As you approach, be aware that entering the building will provoke the Protocol guards; therefore, wait until the area is clear. Enter through the open window, being cautious to avoid detection. Once inside, stealthily make your way upstairs to the back corner where you will find June’s key resting next to a skeleton at the coordinates 34.7E, 80.3N.
Step 2: June’s Secret Stash and Boathouse Location
With your key in hand, your next task is to locate the corresponding lock. You will find June’s Lockbox inside Village Hall.
Navigate to the left hallway behind Captain Sims’s position, and as you round the turn, look past the table on the left-hand side to find the lockbox. Inside, you’ll discover June’s Errands, which lead to a hidden stash near a boathouse.
Side Quest: Acquire a Metal Detector
Before proceeding, you will need a Metal Detector to uncover June’s secret stash. You can find this in the center of a lake south of Slatten Dale, specifically at the coordinates 29.1E, 73.9N.
Be cautious as you approach the lake, as a group of mutated leeches will attack. Utilize your melee weapon or firearms to clear them out before retrieving the Metal Detector from beside a corpse.
Step 3: Discovering June’s Boathouse Stash
Now equipped with the Metal Detector, it’s time to locate the stash. If your quest markers are on, the stash’s location should be indicated; otherwise, the coordinates are 35.6E, 82.8N.
The dig site is situated to the right of the Boathouse, within the ruins. When the Metal Detector starts beeping, it’s time to dig. Don’t forget to snag the note located around the corner on a table for an additional quest lead.
Step 4: Acquiring the Windfall Key
June’s stash unveils the presence of confidential Protocol secrets, including a B. A.R. D.safe room in the Skethermoor region.
Important: Before setting out for Skethermoor, it’s advisable to earn Captain Sims’s trust to prevent his soldiers from attacking you. This guide outlines several effective strategies to gain Captain Sims’s favor.
The Skethermoor entrance is southeast of Wyndham, located at coordinates 36.3E, 77.5N. For visual guidance, refer to the map below.
If you are exploring without quest markers, pinpointing the exact bunker within Skethermoor may be challenging. Look for a marked area rumored to be situated to your right upon entering Skethermoor. This area conceals the B. A.R. D.bunker, identifiable by its unique drainage system and the ‘Access 13′ label at the entrance. The corresponding coordinates are 38.1E, 77.4N.
Once within the bunker (now referred to as Protocol Workshop), the real challenge commences. Despite Captain Sims’s support, Protocol troops remain hostile within these classified zones. Prepare for a skirmish as you navigate through no less than a dozen guards.
Head towards a restroom in the bunker to the right. Follow the corridor straight ahead until you locate the restroom area, then veer right and squeeze through a narrow crawl space.
This crawl space acts as a safe zone where enemies cannot track you, allowing you to heal and save your progress. Continue forward until you find the corpse of an individual named ‘Windfall’.
Windfall’s remains hold the Windfall keycard along with a note referencing a top-secret Windfall Shipment. The next objective in your quest is to locate this shipment to claim your valuable reward.
Step 5: Locating the Windfall Shipment and Claiming the Signal Redirector
Your next destination will be marked on the map, guiding you toward the next bunker. Be prepared to navigate through areas populated with Protocol soldiers stationed at various outposts. Pass through the blockade filled with derelict vehicles, avoiding any landmines along the way. If you’ve established a good rapport with Captain Sims, navigating through these Protocol camps should be manageable; otherwise, they will attack upon sight. The coordinates for the shipment location are 41.3E, 74.9N, situated next to a solitary farm enclosed by barbed wire.
Entering the bunker will trigger combat, so it’s best to stay undetected by Protocol patrols in the vicinity. It is possible to slip in unnoticed, even when guards are just outside.
This bunker is less fortified compared to the last, allowing for a smoother collection process. Enter through the first door on your left.
Once inside, make sure to close the door behind you to keep it quiet. The Windfall Shipment crate is located along the wall at the back of the room. Use the Windfall Keycard to unlock the crate and claim the exceptional loot inside. Remember to grab the three Training Stimulants positioned on the shelf behind the crate as well.
The Signal Redirector is a vital quest item that opens many pathways throughout The Interchange. It can also disable turrets and various electronics, playing a crucial role in late-game missions. While another Signal Redirector can be found in the Skethermoor prison, acquiring this one first is significantly easier and allows you to bypass additional quests.
