Attack on Titan: The Final Chapter -The Last Attack compilation film set for November 2024 release

On August 17, 2024, the announcement of the film Attack on Titan: The Final Chapter -The Last Attack was made. The movie will be a compilation of the two parts of the finale season of the Attack on Titan series. It is set to premiere on November 8, 2024, with a runtime of 145 minutes. The film will also be enhanced with improved visuals and sound quality, creating a cinematic experience for viewers.

The source material for Attack on Titan is a manga series created by Hajime Isayama. It began serialization in September 2009 and concluded in 2021, spanning 34 volumes. This manga has been adapted into several anime versions, with four seasons and one special finale season produced by two different animation studios.

The preview trailer for Attack on Titan FINAL CHAPTERS, the compilation movie, featured footage from the final season. The duration of the film will be 145 minutes, featuring enhanced visuals compared to the previous season’s finale. Additionally, a 5.1 surround sound system will be utilized, utilizing distinct channels for an immersive auditory experience. These efforts were made in order to ensure an optimal viewing experience for the cinematic release of Attack on Titan: The Final Chapter – The Last Attack.

The song titled Nisennen.. Moshiku wa.. Nimannengo no Kimi e, performed by Linked Horizon, will be used as the theme song for the film. Linked Horizon, a well-known Japanese band, has previously performed the majority of Attack on Titan’s theme songs, including Guren no Yumiya from the first season and Red Swan from the third season. This particular song was featured as the ending song for the second episode of the FINAL CHAPTERS special.

Yuuichirou Hayashi, a highly influential director for Attack on Titan, recently discussed the reasons behind the creation of Attack on Titan: The Final Chapter -The Last Attack. According to Hayashi, the FINAL CHAPTERS special was originally intended to be a standalone film from its inception. Unfortunately, this plan was unable to come to fruition for unspecified reasons.

Hayashi emphasized the importance of the audience experiencing ‘Rumbling’ in its optimal form, which is why the project was initially announced for a cinematic release. The key staff members from the previous season will reunite to create this Attack on Titan compilation film.

The film will open with the chilling scene of the Rumbling, which began at the conclusion of the prequel, Attack on Titan final season part 2. It will follow the collaboration of Marley soldiers and Eldian soldiers as they strive to prevent Eren Yeager from annihilating all of humanity.
