August Girl Group Individual Brand Reputation Rankings: Jang Wonyoung Takes First Place Over Karina

The top three spots in the individual girl group member brand reputation rankings for August were claimed by IVE’s Jang Wonyoung, aespa’s Karina, and cignature’s Jiwoo, as announced on August 18 after the big data analysis.

During the period of July 18 to August 18, 2024, the Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute collected 95,745,561 data points related to 675 individual members of various girl groups. This data was used to examine consumer attitudes towards these brands. The brand reputation index was determined by analyzing the participation index, media index, communication index, and community index. There was a 13.73% decrease in the brand big data compared to the previous month’s data of 110,977,299 pieces.

The brand reputation index is a metric that is determined by conducting big data analysis, which shows the impact of consumers’ online behaviors on brand consumption. By analyzing the individual brand reputation of each member in a girl group, it is possible to gauge positive and negative evaluations, media interest, as well as the level of consumer attention and interaction. This analysis also takes into consideration the evaluation of brand value in order to measure its influence.

Despite a 12.44% decrease from the previous month’s brand reputation index of 6,477,437, Jang Wonyoung maintained her position as the top-ranked individual girl group member with a participation index of 1,499,780, a media index of 1,396,230, a communication index of 1,047,205, and a community index of 1,728,163, resulting in a total brand reputation index of 5,671,379.

Despite ranking second, aespa’s Karina maintained a strong brand reputation index of 5,473,424 with a participation index of 1,715,598, a media index of 1,265,920, a communication index of 1,107,498, and a community index of 1,384,407. Jiwoo from cignature, who placed third, achieved a participation index of 418,604, a media index of 413,909, a communication index of 1,532,353, and a community index of 1,365,585, resulting in a brand reputation index of 3,730,451. This marks a 25.28% increase in comparison to July’s brand reputation index of 2,977,584.

IVE’s An Yujin, who placed fourth in the rankings, achieved a brand reputation index of 3,714,334 with a participation index of 1,086,389, a media index of 1,009,543, a communication index of 634,858, and a community index of 983,544. This is a 12.32% increase from the brand reputation index of 3,306,874 recorded in July.

With a participation index of 915,403, media index of 845,323, communication index of 657,278, and community index of 1,237,528, aespa’s Winter ranked fifth with a brand reputation index of 3,655,531. This marks a significant 41.94% increase compared to the brand reputation index of 2,575,372 in July.

According to the August 2024 big data analysis of individual girl group member brand reputation, Jang Wonyoung from IVE ranked first, as stated by Gu Chang-hwan, Director of the Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute. The big data for August showed a decrease of 13.73% compared to July when analyzing the individual girl group member brand category. A closer examination revealed an increase of 1.57% in brand consumption, a decrease of 1.28% in brand issues, and decreases of 11.80% in brand communication and 26.88% in brand diffusion.

“During the link analysis of IVE’s Jang Wonyoung, who was ranked first in individual girl group member brand reputation for August 2024, it was found that there were strong associations with terms such as ‘lovable,’ ‘positive,’ and ‘growth.’ In the keyword analysis, notable terms included ‘Wonyoung-turn,’ ‘Wonyoung’s way of thinking,’ and ‘LuckyViki.’ Additionally, the analysis of positive-to-negative ratio indicated a high positive ratio of 91.07%.”
