Prominent Warzone streamer Aydan has made headlines by announcing a temporary hiatus from the game, citing its current state as being the “worst”he has ever experienced. He expressed discontent with the developers’ lack of communication, describing it as a “spit in the face” to the community.
In recent times, the Call of Duty franchise has faced considerable turmoil. Both Black Ops 6 and Warzone are experiencing steep declines in player engagement due to persistent and critical issues that continue to accumulate.
Key problems, such as rampant cheating and game-breaking bugs, have prompted numerous top players to either quit or take a break, and Aydan is now choosing to join this growing list. In an announcement made on January 13, 2025, he declared his intention to step away from Warzone for an indefinite period, asserting that promoting the game under its current conditions is no longer tenable for him.

“Warzone is dying,” Aydan conveyed on X (formerly Twitter), revealing his plans for the future. He remains uncertain about when he might return, as it largely depends on whether the developers prioritize addressing the numerous pressing issues.
“I’m not quitting the game,” Aydan clarified. “Call of Duty has been my favorite game for years. However, at present, the lack of communication is alarming, and the game’s state is possibly at its nadir.”

Throughout December 2024, during Season 1, Aydan logged over 280 hours in Warzone. He referred to this extensive experience as a “real eye-opener,” revealing the extent of the game’s issues.
“The game is in shambles. From hackers littering the landscape to genuine players receiving shadow bans, it feels like every aspect of the game is fundamentally flawed. Testing seems non-existent,” he expressed. “Moreover, the absence of communication puts players in an unfair position, making them feel disregarded.”
Despite his top ranking in Warzone Season 1 at the time of his statement, Aydan has indicated that he is indifferent toward losing his position. “If I drop in rankings, so be it,” he mentioned during a follow-up Twitch stream.
“The current state of the game is deplorable. I believe players have not been treated justly. Given my platform, I feel a responsibility to voice my opinions and take a stand.”
Verdansk is on track to make a comeback in Warzone during Season 3, scheduled for release around April, which may mark Aydan’s potential return to the battlefield.
Regarding the timeline for his return to Call of Duty’s Battle Royale, Aydan cautioned fans that it could take a while. Although there may be occasional sponsored streams featuring Warzone gameplay, he plans to largely avoid the game until significant improvements are made.
“I don’t plan to play for the rest of this season or likely next unless substantial changes occur. The next time you might see me play Warzone could be with the return of Verdansk.”
