Aydan Reveals $1 Million Mistake in His Early Fortnite Career

Top-tier Warzone esports player and popular streamer Aydan recently shared his thoughts on how a missed opportunity early in his career, particularly during his time in Fortnite, might have cost him a staggering $1 million.

Aydan has established himself as a prominent figure in the battle royale gaming scene, gaining fame during the Fortnite era as one of the world’s elite controller players.

His legendary encounters with fellow gamer NICKMERCS at Tilted Towers are still talked about in the community, and although he earned roughly $200,000 in prize winnings throughout those years, he believes he could have significantly boosted that amount.

In his own words, Aydan reflected that he “didn’t understand how to excel in battle royale at that point,”which he feels may have hindered his potential earnings.

During an appearance on the Around the Bar podcast, hosted by OpTic Gaming’s Davis ‘Hitch’ Edwards, Aydan candidly talked about his gaming journey, acknowledging that he lacked the strategic mindset necessary to fully seize the opportunities presented to him.

“I’m telling you … I didn’t know how to play battle royale back in those days,” he mentioned, while reflecting on a clip showcasing him and Nick’s dominance in a duos tournament. “At that time, my experience was mostly dealing with players who didn’t pose much of a challenge.”

“I often think that if I could go back and apply what I know now, I’d definitely be looking at an extra $1 million in my pocket, no joke. I underperformed in so many Fortnite tournaments. I was a bit oblivious,” he added.

They also discussed the revenue that certain players generated from Fortnite before fading from the scene, citing an example of a player named iDropz_Bodiez, who earned $130,000 from a single tournament and then seemingly disappeared from competitive play.

While Aydan continues to thrive in his successful battle royale career, it’s intriguing to observe his reflections on past errors and how he has evolved since then.
