Spotlight on Key Characters: Ranmaru Mori and Rihito Tatsuno in the Baban Baban Ban Vampire Anime PV

The trailer for Baban Baban Ban Vampire begins with a glimpse of the main character, Ranmaru Mori, as he tidies up a spa area. Moments later, he is seen dancing until he is approached by Rihito Tatsuno. It becomes evident that Mori, who is a vampire, enjoys a friendly relationship with Rihito and his family, yet harbors a desire to consume the blood of an 18-year-old virgin.

Determined to ensure Rihito retains his virginity until he reaches 18, Mori seeks to drink Rihito’s blood exclusively. However, his plans complicate when Rihito fortuitously meets Aoi Shinozuka and starts to develop feelings for her. The trailer culminates in an intense scene where this trio comes face-to-face, with Mori possibly disclosing his true vampire nature to them.

Joining the cast are Mayuko Kazama as Aoi Shinozuka and Taku Yashiro as Ken Shinozuka, who is also known as Franken. They join the voice talents of Daisuke Namikawa portraying Ranmaru Mori and Yusuke Kobayashi as Rihito Tatsuno. The key visual presents these four characters, with Mori and Rihito holding cleaning supplies, alongside two other characters whose identities and voice actors remain unannounced.

Itsuro Kawasaki is at the helm of directing the anime and crafting its scripts at studio GAINA. Takahiro Tamano serves as the assistant director, and Yukiko Ban takes on the roles of chief animation director and character designer. The chief animation directors also include Sunsuke Masuda and Satoru Kiyomaru, while the music composition is handled by Jun Ichikawa from Julydex.

The source material, described as a BL manga—meaning “Bloody Love Comedy” —revolves around Ranmaru, a 450-year-old vampire who works part-time in a public bath. Rihito, the son of the bathhouse proprietors, is under Ranmaru’s watchful eye as the vampire seeks to fulfill his craving for the blood of an 18-year-old virgin.

The original manga by Hiromasa Okujima began its serialization in Akita Shoten’s Bessatsu Shonen Champion magazine in October 2021 and continues to be published, currently having seven compilation volumes, none of which have been officially translated into English.
