Baby Monster and ILLIT Celebrate Significant Album Achievements

Baby Monster has celebrated significant achievements by earning two distinct Circle certifications for their inaugural mini-album titled “BABYMONS7ER.”

The standard edition of this mini-album has been recognized with a platinum certification for surpassing 250,000 units sold, whereas the Nemo version attained a prestigious double platinum certification for exceeding 500,000 copies sold.

This mini-album features tracks such as “MONSTERS,” “SHEESH,” “LIKE THAT,” “Stuck In The Middle,” “BATTER UP,” “DREAM,” and a remix of “Stuck in the Middle.”

This release holds particular significance for the band, marking their first album with all seven members reunited after Ahyeon rejoined.

In 2018, a new certification framework for album sales, music downloads, and streaming was adopted by the Korea Music Content Industry Association.

Under this system, effective from January 1, 2018, Circle Chart bestows platinum certifications on albums that achieve 250,000 sales, while those surpassing the one million mark receive a “million” certification.

On October 19 (KST), the girl group from YG Entertainment unveiled a teaser for an upcoming track from their album DRIP, concurrently teasing their debut full-length album.

The promotional song, named “Billionaire,” is a hip-hop piece characterized by robust bass and guitar elements, highlighting YG’s signature sound.

The anticipated release date for the album DRIP is set for November 1 at 1 PM KST.

Alongside Baby Monster, ILLIT has also marked impressive milestones in their album sales.

As reported by album distributors Genie Music and Stone Music Entertainment, ILLIT’s new album, “I’ll like you,”achieved over 550,000 pre-orders, shattering their previous record of around 210,000 pre-orders for their debut album “Super real me,”which launched in early March.

The narrative of ILLIT’s sophomore album “I’ll like you”delves into the experience of forming deep connections with a friend. This album follows the conceptual journey initiated in their debut, which centered on exploring the theme of “my true self.”

The five tracks encapsulate the members’ experiences as they navigate self-doubt, embrace their emotions, and uncover their personal truths.

ILLIT’s second mini-album “I’ll like you”will be accessible on all streaming platforms starting October 21.
