In the comments section, a viewer noted, “She’s laughing from the left towards the end.”The original poster (OP) then asked, “Is anyone else convinced that she also filmed this?”Another person chimed in, “The actress perfectly executed the laugh.”
Some also presented their theories on who they think the true identity of Martha is, with one person suggesting, “Do a search for Maria Marchese, and you’ll thank me later.”
One individual suggested that Helen Faure, a convicted stalker who targeted a civil litigation barrister in the UK last year, could also be a potential match for the character of Martha in the series. They noted that when they searched for Helen Faure, the top result was an article about her stalking the barrister, and they felt that the physical resemblance between Faure and Martha was striking.
Despite being pointed out by other users, Gadd intentionally chose not to reveal the identity of the stalker to viewers of Baby Reindeer. Additionally, the dates provided by Faure and Marchese do not match up.
One TikToker responded to the Marchese suggestion by stating, “It wasn’t her fault, she was in prison at the time.”According to reports, Gadd’s stalker first targeted him in 2015 and the harassment continued for around three years.

According to reports, Marchese was sentenced in either 2012 or 2007 for her crimes against Falkowski and Pemberton, including making false rape accusations and death threats. However, neither of these dates align with the time when Gadd was targeted.
The only available information on Faure pertains to her 2023 conviction for stalking her former partner, Charles Béar KC, a barrister involved in civil litigation. While some believe she may also be stalking Gadd, it cannot be confirmed as he has chosen not to make any public statements on the matter.
