Fiona opened up in a comprehensive interview with Piers Morgan, however, the individual who served as the inspiration for Baby Reindeer made a critical remark towards The Sun columnist mere hours before their scheduled conversation.
In her online post, she stated, “Piers is a twerp,”but this is not news to us.
“You will witness it during my interview.”
1. What did Fiona Harvey say on Piers Morgan’s Uncensored YouTube show?
In an effort to clarify the truth, Fiona accuses the show’s writer, Richard Gadd, of profiting from false information.
According to Fiona’s statement on Piers Morgan Uncensored:
Despite the situation, neither Netflix nor the individual in question have offered any apologies. It is disappointing that I have not received an apology from someone who claims to feel remorseful towards me.
It appears that my character has been accused of causing damage to a bar, committing sexual assault in a canal, and serving time in prison. There have been several other accusations made, but I want to clarify that they are not true.
2. How was she identified as the real-life Martha?
Despite the fact that the Netflix show had only just been released, she was quickly exposed as the ‘real-life Martha’ online. When speaking to Piers, she revealed, “People online relentlessly pursued me, even sending death threats. It wasn’t a decision I made, I was forced into this situation.”
Fiona responded to Piers’ question about Baby Reindeer by saying that she had not watched it. She mentioned hearing about the court scene and jail sentences, but clarified that she had not seen any of it.
“Are you not curious as well?”Piers asked.
The online death threats I have received have been dreadful. The constant phone calls have been a nightmare to deal with. It has been an incredibly distressing experience.
“I would not place any trust in something like that, as it does not align with the type of drama that I typically enjoy.”
Fiona’s Comment on Gadd
She said to Piers about Gadd, “I believe he has severe psychiatric issues in general… However, I have always maintained that it is a work of fiction and hyperbole.”
“There are two verifiable truths in that statement: his name is Richard Gadd and he holds a job as a barman at the Hawley Arms while receiving benefits. We have crossed paths two or three times…”
When Piers asked Fiona if she had told Gadd that he resembled a baby reindeer toy she had as a child, she replied: “I did have a toy reindeer that had a shaved head, which is true. And since it was Christmas time, there were reindeer toys in the shops. It was meant as a joke, but it ended up inspiring the name of the show.”
4. Did Fiona send those emails to Gadd?
When questioned by Piers about the alleged 41,000 emails, 350 hours of voice messages, 744 tweets, 48 Facebook messages, and 106 letters sent to Gadd, she denied the accuracy of those numbers and stated, “That’s not accurate. If someone were truly sending that many emails, how many would they have to send per day? A lot.”
Piers continued to press her, and she eventually conceded that there may have been a few emails. She estimated there were around five or six, possibly less than ten.
In response to Piers’ questioning about the number of times she supposedly tweeted Gadd, she clarified, “I may have done it several years ago… No, it wasn’t frequent. It was around 18 tweets.”
Piers inquired if Fiona had ever become violent with one of Gadd’s girlfriends out of jealousy. She responded, “No, I don’t believe he had a girlfriend. I believe he is, let’s say, homosexual.”
However, I have never been to his house or harmed any of his girlfriends in any way.
Although this is a fictional character, it is not entirely based on reality. The author has used hyperbole and exaggeration to create an imaginative story. Therefore, it is a work of fiction based on the author’s imagination.
In addition, she refuted ever having contacted his parents.
At the interview, Fiona and Piers viewed a video of Martha admitting her guilt for intimidating Donny, Gadd’s character, and receiving a nine-month prison sentence.
Fiona was questioned by Piers about any past charges or time spent in prison.
She denied both questions and then stated, “That is completely false. It is highly defamatory and could damage my career.”
“I wanted to address this on the show and completely refute it. I am not a stalker and have never been to jail or had any injunctions or interdicts. This is all baseless and false.”
During the Uncensored interview, the host inquired if she had ever been in love with Gadd. She replied, “Piers, are you serious? No… I rejected him.”
He once propositioned me with a big green spot on his face, asking me to sleep with him. However, I declined and politely stated that I was not interested.
She stated, “I have a boyfriend.”I made it clear that I wasn’t interested, but in a subtle manner.
“However, let me make it clear that I do not have any interest in young boys who do not have jobs. The thought of it is terrible and extremely heartless. But, you know.”
Fiona turned the tables on the host and inquired about how much Gadd may have earned from the popular Netflix show. Piers responded by estimating that it could be “several millions.”
Fiona replied, “I believe he has greatly benefited from his slanderous remarks against me… He is profiting from false information. He has demonstrated himself to be a complete misogynist.”
Piers inquired Fiona about her thoughts for Gadd if he happened to be watching, to which she responded: “Please, leave me alone. Find a suitable occupation and get a life. I am appalled by your actions.”
During the Uncensored interview, Piers asked Fiona if she planned to pursue legal action against Gadd. Without hesitation, she responded, “Definitely against both him and Netflix.”
Is Fiona Suing Piers Morgan?
The woman who served as the inspiration for the popular Netflix series “Baby Reindeer”is courageously speaking out against how she was misrepresented on the show and defamed by its creator, Richard Gadd, and the streaming platform. She also reveals that she was taken advantage of by Piers Morgan during a recent interview, and as a result, she is considering legal action to seek compensation for the harm caused.
In addition, Harvey is requesting £1m from Piers Morgan after an interview she did with him garnered over 2.6 million views in a span of five days.
Harvey informed The Daily Record, a Scottish tabloid, that she was initially offered £250 to do the interview, but as it has gone viral, the demand has increased.
During Morgan’s interview with her, Harvey alluded to the possibility of pursuing legal action against the British tabloid Daily Mail, without providing any specific reasons.
Is Fiona Speaking the Truth?
A body language expert has identified multiple inconsistencies in the alleged ‘real’ Martha’s behavior during her interview with Piers Morgan on Netflix’s Baby Reindeer. Following the public’s search for the true identity of this woman, Fiona Harvey came forward and claimed to be the inspiration for Richard Gadd’s character.
Upon reviewing the interview, Jesús Enrique Rosas, who is famously known as The Body Language Guy, concluded that the witness’s testimony is riddled with ‘inconsistencies’ and that Harvey “butchers”her own statement multiple times during the conversation. Rosas specifically pointed out the first body language cue – blinking.
During Harvey’s explanation of how frequently she met Gadd, she stated, “only two or three times,”while blinking rapidly. Rosas then mentioned that blinking is a simple method for identifying an emotional reaction.
He went on to explain that there was some fluttering or rapid blinking observed after she stated, “I’ve only met this guy two or three times, I don’t know him.”This quick blinking could potentially be a sign of nervousness, but it could also be a part of her natural body language.
In a separate video, Rosas pointed out that Harvey’s closing of her eyelids was quicker than usual, suggesting that it was not a natural reaction for her. When Piers directly asked if the woman depicted in the show was indeed not Harvey, Rosas drew attention to her facial expression.
Rosas pointed out that, although the woman she was observing did not exhibit rapid blinking, she did press her lips immediately after stating that she was not the woman portrayed on the show. This action, according to Rosas, is another sign of strong emotion, such as frustration, upset, or nervousness.
