BABYMONSTER Facing Accusations of Laziness during Performances

Following their successful fan meeting in Japan, BABYMONSTER proceeded to host a fan event in Jakarta, Indonesia. Despite being new to the K-pop scene, BABYMONSTER’s performance impressed netizens and many even compared it to a full-fledged concert.

Despite being a member, Pharita received criticism for her apparent lack of enthusiasm during dance performances with her group.

A video showcasing Pharita’s dance skills alongside those of her fellow BABYMONSTER members was uploaded onto the internet. During the fan meeting, in addition to performing songs from their mini-album, the group also delighted fans by covering songs from their senior artists. The most highly anticipated performance was a mashup of 2NE1 dance covers. This particular performance was also a crucial part of the group’s monthly evaluations during their trainee days.

Despite getting criticized for her lack of enthusiasm and lazy movements compared to the other members during the dance, Pharita had faced similar criticism before. At a fan meeting in Japan, her dance was also deemed lackluster. This was not the first time she was facing such negative feedback.

Despite some netizens expressing disappointment in Pharita and her perceived lackluster attitude on stage, her fans were quick to come to her defense. They pointed out that as a rookie, she may have a medical condition that prevents her from performing vigorous head movements. This was evident in her gentle head turns during both the Japan and Jakarta fan meetings, as well as on the show “Knowing Brothers,”where she consistently avoided vigorous shaking unlike the other members.

Despite this, fans pointed out that Pharita flawlessly executed every move, even the smallest ones, throughout the performance. As a result, they theorized that Pharita may have been dealing with vertigo, which could have hindered her ability to perform head-banging movements with full intensity.
