During the airing of KBS CoolFM’s “Park Myung-soo’s Radio Show,”the up-and-coming girl group, BABYMONSTER, consisting of Ruka, Pharita, Asa, Ahyeon, Rami, Rora, and Chiquita, had an interesting conversation with DJ Park Myung-soo on April 15th.
During their performance, BABYMONSTER revealed a surprise present given to them by the renowned singer-songwriter, Charlie Puth.
With enthusiasm, they revealed, “The singer-songwriter we respect, Charlie Puth, gave us a song.”
Ahyeon’s performance of Puth’s “Dangerously”on a survival program led to the revelation and caught the attention of the renowned artist.
Puth was so impressed by her performance that he decided to extend his generosity by offering them the song “LIKE THAT”as a token of appreciation.
Puth’s Success and Acclaim
Intrigued by Puth’s response, Park Myung-soo continued to ask questions. BABYMONSTER eagerly confirmed, “He loved it. Our fans also showed a lot of love for this song,”demonstrating the enthusiastic reception their collaboration received.
Uncovering Personal Goals and Ambitions
BABYMONSTER also seized the chance to express their individual ambitions, in addition to pursuing their new musical project.
Despite the group’s launch by YG Entertainment seven years after BLACKPINK’s debut, each member was asked about their goals and shared their individual ambitions.
Rora stressed the importance of the prestigious Rookie of the Year award, stating that it would be a once-in-a-lifetime accomplishment to receive it.
Asa expressed her ambitions to develop a large collection of recordings and connect with her fans through live shows.
Inspired by BLACKPINK’s long-lasting success, Ahyeon expressed her desire for continuous and healthy career in the industry. She also shared her dream of performing on the Coachella stage.
Despite debuting two months ago, BABYMONSTER’s absence from music and entertainment programs has been a source of criticism for YG Entertainment.
Despite initial appearances, the group’s quiet tactics have been strategically planned out. Their main objective is to focus on perfecting their first mini-album before diving into promotional activities, with the ultimate goal of achieving worldwide success and living up to the high expectations of their fans. This deliberate choice clearly demonstrates YG’s determination to position BABYMONSTER as the next major act to follow in the footsteps of BLACKPINK.
Despite having limited public exposure, BABYMONSTER has managed to attract significant attention, as evidenced by the millions of views their pre-release song “Stuck In the Middle”received shortly after its debut. The group intends to further increase their promotional efforts upon the official release of their first mini-album in April.
