Amidst the announcement that BABYMONSTER will be making a comeback with a new album in the latter half of the year, YG Entertainment also shared its plans to increase the promotions of its artists.
In a video posted on YG’s official blog on May 20, YG’s executive producer, Yang Hyun-suk, announced that BABYMONSTER will be releasing a full album in September or October. He also mentioned that a new song will be released by the group in early July.
Yang, who oversees music and other creative areas, announced earlier this year that he plans to increase the number of in-house producers from approximately 10 to 40 or 50. This will allow for faster progress on projects. He aims to expedite the artists’ endeavors in order to meet the expectations of their fans.
BABYMONSTER will be releasing a choreography video for their debut album “Like That”this month. This track, which was gifted to the group by pop star Charlie Puth, has been well-received by fans due to its unique charm, setting it apart from the title track “Sheesh.”
In comparison to a month ago, BABYMONSTER’s popularity has been steadily increasing since the release of their hit single “Sheesh.”As of 6 p.m. on May 20, “Sheesh”has secured the 11th spot on the Melon Top 100 music streaming platform. Additionally, the choreography video for “Sheesh”has reached over 100 million views in just 43 days. The group’s live singing abilities, showcased with hand microphones on the popular show “Music Station”on TV Asahi, have earned them the title of “monster rookie”and solidified their potential to become a global sensation.
