The online discussion about fromis_9’s salaries is ongoing.
On May 20, Korean news outlet MyDaily published an article about the responses of Flovers and netizens to the alleged unpaid salaries of fromis_9. Based on sources, the girl group held a live broadcast on the fan platform Weverse where they discussed various topics.
During the live broadcast, member Park Jiwon announced, “I am expecting to receive my first payment by the end of this year.”However, her statement was met with uncomfortable laughter from the other members present. Following the conclusion of the broadcast, fans expressed their shock and disbelief online.
According to the report, it was noted that fans were unable to comprehend the fact that fromis_9, a K-pop group that has been active for seven years, has not yet received their first salary.
The news was equally surprising to a large number of people, considering fromis_9’s loyal fan base and their ability to sell out concerts and participate in numerous events. Reports stated that fans were in a state of disbelief upon hearing the news.

Despite some netizens’ speculation that Jiwon was referring to the first settlement in 2024 instead of the entire period since fromis_9’s debut, there were reports that she was actually referring to the entire period.
In addition, on May 7, member Lee Chaeyoung’s comment was also shared by the outlet. She expressed her disappointment by saying, “Why are we having to do this? I want to participate in activities. It’s unfortunate that only fromis_9 is unable to remain active for a long time.”
To further investigate, MyDaily disclosed that they had contacted PLEDIS Entertainment directly on May 20, however, they did not receive any response.
The agency also clarified that they had previously addressed Lee Chaeyoung’s statement about fromis_9’s hiatus and limited promotional activities.
“The agency announced that we are currently working on preparations for fromis_9’s comeback. They also revealed that along with new music, we have plans for a special photo exhibition and other activities for this year.”
Netizens in a forum expressed frustration in response to the update.
