Bada discusses aespa’s challenging choreography for Next Level

MBC M’s “Weekly Idol”aired on the 28th, showcasing the BEBE crew, champions of “Street Woman Fighter 2.”The crew delivered a spontaneous dance performance, where Boom and Mina, as well as Lee Jang-jun and Tatter, engaged in a dance battle. The two duos chose to perform aespa’s “Armageddon,”resulting in Tatter emerging as the victor.

Afterwards, all of the members, including the youngest Sowon as well as Lusher, Kyma, Chaechae, Mina, Tatter, and leader Bada, took turns introducing themselves. The BEBE team then shared that their choice of yellow outfits was a tribute to the iconic color of the “Weekly Idol”logo.

Bada expressed her excitement about BEBE being the first dance team to be featured on “Weekly Idol”, saying, “Choosing to pursue dance was the best decision I ever made. It’s a dream come true to be on ‘Weekly Idol’ and I am determined to showcase my passion and skills to the fullest.”

Bada revealed that Tatter is currently the member who annoys her the most, explaining, “Tatter has a unique posture when he enters the practice room.”Tatter, who is known for being sensitive, chose Mina as the most easily offended. Mina then stated, “I believe Tatter is even more sensitive than I am.”The members’ votes ultimately determined that Mina was the most sensitive. Boom added, “I have never seen such a unanimous vote before.”

Bada chose aespa’s “Next Level”as the most demanding song she has ever tackled, citing it as an emotionally difficult experience. She elaborated, mentioning the difficulty of aligning the angles and timing of the “ㄷ dance,”and her initial idea of incorporating a sweeping motion to capture the essence of the song’s title. Despite creating the iconic dance move quickly, her first draft almost included the use of palm support.

Mina observed that Bada tends to search for her own name more than any of the other members, prompting Bada to jokingly respond, “In all honesty, I have a deep admiration for myself.”

Bada also mentioned that Lusher is frequently likened to Julie from Kiss of Life. After considering both Lusher and Mina for the role of the team’s “sexy queen,”she ultimately selected Lusher as the winner following her impressive performance of “Sticky”from Kiss of Life. Boom playfully remarked, “She even flips her hair in the same manner,”sparking speculation of rehearsing and causing laughter.

A voting session was held for the “Professional Responder” who provided the most truthful responses during the weekly relay of N questions and answers. During the session, Lee Jang-jun pointed out that five out of seven minutes were voted for themselves, causing laughter among the attendees. Thanks to the fair voting of Kima and Lusher, Mina and Chaechae were selected as the Professional Responders.

Shortly after, BEBE’s random play dance segment commenced. Despite the increased difficulty with the choreography being performed three times faster, the members confidently executed routines from Dynamic Duo, Lee Young-ji’s “Smoke,”as well as from Hwasa, Stray Kids, and NCT Dream, causing some confusion among the audience.
