Bae Seul-ki Takes Legal Action Against Death Threats Targeting Her Family
On January 9, Bae Seul-ki’s agency, Chan Entertainment, announced its decision to pursue stringent legal measures against alarming death threats directed at the actress and her husband, YouTuber Shim Lee-seop. This announcement comes in light of a series of malicious posts discovered on an online community platform that targeted the couple.
The Shocking Revelation
In a candid conversation with X Sports News, Bae Seul-ki admitted, “I don’t really use the community, so I was unaware of the situation.” The unexpected visit from the police left her in disbelief as they informed her of the threats. Expressing her gratitude, she stated, “I am thankful to the person who reported this.”
Concerns for Safety
Bae elaborated on the gravity of the threats, “They were serious enough to warrant police intervention.” Out of these safety concerns, she even canceled prior commitments, including an important hospital visit with her baby. “The need for taking precautions was paramount,” she explained.
Frustration Over Targeting of Family
In addition to the threats aimed at her and her husband, their child also became a target for these malicious comments. Bae Seul-ki voiced her disappointment regarding the situation, stating, “I was genuinely angry. This time, the severity compelled me to discuss it with the company.” She noted that while she had typically ignored such hate in the past, the current circumstances warranted action due to escalating concerns. “The company shared my worries about the matter,” she added.
Deciding on Legal Action
In defense of her child’s well-being, Bae Seul-ki decided to take legal action following discussions with her agency. “Although the original post has been removed, my husband has received a report and has already initiated a lawsuit through his attorney,” she confirmed.
Agency’s Stance Against Malicious Behavior
Chan Entertainment is actively collaborating with law enforcement to identify the creators of the harmful posts and is resolute in holding them legally responsible. In a strong statement, the agency emphasized, “We will demonstrate zero tolerance towards such behavior.”
While some individuals opt for deleting their records or retracting accounts, the agency is diligently gathering evidence and requesting cooperation from various online platforms. They expressed their commitment to continued legal proceedings in association with their legal team, garnering support and encouragement from a wide fanbase.
A Joyous Personal Milestone
Bae Seul-ki married online creator Shim Lee-seop in November 2020. The couple celebrated another milestone recently, welcoming their first child in October after four years of marriage, which received heartfelt congratulations from fans and well-wishers alike.
