Baekhyun Issues Apology Following Leaked Video of Him Smoking: ‘Did Not Know It Was Forbidden’

EXO’s Baekhyun has issued a public apology in response to fan backlash following the leak of a video showing him smoking indoors in Macau.

On September 16th, INB100 released a statement addressing the vaping incident involving their CEO and the artist. This communication came after a video and photos of Baekhyun surfaced on social media and online platforms earlier that day.

The footage reportedly captured the K-pop star during a private after-performance gathering in Macau. The venue was rented by Baekhyun to celebrate with his staff. However, an individual recorded and took photos of the event without his permission, leading to the subsequent online leak.

Following the incident, Baekhyun faced considerable negative remarks from K-netizens, although a portion of fans expressed blame towards the person responsible for the leak. Subsequently, Baekhyun took to his company’s official channels to offer a public apology.

In his statement, he explained that he was unaware of the venue’s regulations surrounding e-smoking and expressed remorse for disappointing fans with his actions.

Here’s the full apology from EXO’s Baekhyun:

“Hello. This is INB100.

We sincerely apologize to everyone who felt uncomfortable by the video of indoor smoking by our artist Baekhyun, which is currently circulating online.

At the time, Baekhyun and our staff were completely unaware that e-cigarettes are prohibited in Macau. During a meal after the performance in Macau, Baekhyun unknowingly used a vape as discussions became more animated.
