Despite the previous HYBE – Min Hee Jin conflict, the Kpop industry continues to face turmoil as three members of EXO-CBX and SM Entertainment are involved in a dispute. A year after their initial contract disagreement, Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin from EXO-CBX have come forward to reveal SM’s contract violations and unequal treatment. In response, SM has taken legal measures, causing worry and tension among EXO fans.
Despite SM’s lawsuit, leaked photos of Baekhyun caused controversy. On June 18, photos from “Baekhyun’s pool party with dancers”were posted online. These photos, shared by Baekhyun’s dancers, depicted the idol swimming and hosting a pool party at a Bangkok hotel in Thailand.
During his solo tour in Asia, Baekhyun, also known by his stage name “Lonsdaleite,”recently made a stop in Bangkok. Despite being taken during his free time after a performance, the photos that have been circulating have received negative feedback. Fans have expressed their disappointment with Baekhyun’s carefree attitude amidst the ongoing controversy.
Despite Baekhyun previously reassuring fans through Bubble, the dispute between EXO-CBX and SM arose due to individual contract issues. The media statements from EXO-CBX consistently involved EXO and their fanbase, causing other members to be dragged into the controversy. Despite displaying solidarity with EXO, even leader Suho was unaware of the dispute until it became publicized.
Consequently, Korean netizens have been responding negatively to posts about Baekhyun.
