Baldur’s Gate 3 and D&D’s 50th anniversary collide: Astarion voices Vecna.

In this trailer for the latest adventure module of 5e, Neil Newbon, the voice actor of Astarion in Baldur’s Gate 3, lends his voice to the iconic D&D antagonist Vecna.

As D&D prepares to celebrate its 50th anniversary, one of the major highlights is the release of Vecna: Eve of Ruin. This thrilling adventure, designed for high-level characters, marks the end of D&D 5e and serves as a finale before the upcoming major rules update in 2024. This update will once again alter the foundation of the game that has captured the hearts of players for the past 50 years.

Vecna, a Lich known for wielding dark magic and seeking absolute power and immortality, is one of the most iconic villains in D&D. To do justice to such a legendary and imposing character, Wizards of the Coast has hit the jackpot by enlisting the talents of Neil Newbon, the voice of Astarion in Baldur’s Gate 3, for a new trailer featuring the undead tyrant.

In the trailer for the Eve of Ruin adventure module, Newbon expertly portrays Vecna’s sinister ambitions of conquering multiple universes.
