Baldur’s Gate 3 character Lae’zel’s canon love interest revealed by voice actor

Despite the constant danger in Baldur’s Gate 3, love is ever-present. With a diverse selection of romantic partners available, the voice actor for Lae’zel has expressed her opinion on the game’s canon couple.

In Baldur’s Gate 3, players have a multitude of options for their character’s romantic relationships. These options range from being happily involved with a frog-like creature, engaging in infidelity with a devil, or even sacrificing a loved one as part of a plot to conquer the world. Just your average choices.

This implies that the game does not have a predetermined romantic pairing between characters, particularly when taking into account the various endings available in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Nevertheless, the actors portraying the characters have their own perspectives. For instance, Devora Wilde, who voices and performs the motion capture for Lae’zel, has officially named her preferred couple.

“I believe Lae’zel and Shadowheart should be the canon couples. It has to be them, considering their love/hate dynamic,”stated Wilde.

Lae’zel and Shadowheart are a well-known duo among fans, particularly due to the suggestive nature of their rivalry and the scene in the camp where one attempts to kill the other.

Not only do the Gith and the Sith make a good match, but Wilde also believes that another member of the party, Karlach, would be a suitable partner for Lae’zel, stating “I also think they make a great pair.”

According to the statistics released for Baldur’s Gate 3’s first anniversary, Karlach is a highly sought-after romantic choice among players. It comes as no surprise that the fiery Tiefling warrior has ignited passion in the hearts of many players.

Despite the possibility of a sequel being made by a different studio that could bring back the characters, it is unlikely that Baldur’s Gate 3 will ever have a canon conclusion to its story. This is further reinforced by the fact that the upcoming D&D book centered on the city of Baldur’s Gate is not expected to provide definitive answers.

Ultimately, it is up to the fans and the actors who portrayed these beloved characters to determine which pair gets to have their happy ending. In this scenario, they will be riding off on a red dragon, with the destination being Shar’s defeat as opposed to a traditional sunset.
