Dragon Age: The Veilguard’s embargo has officially been lifted, and a developer from Baldur’s Gate 3 has shared his brief impressions of the game.

If you’re aware of the gaming landscape over the past year, you know that Baldur’s Gate 3 has emerged as one of the most acclaimed RPGs to date. Its success is partially attributed to its unforgettable companions and expansive narrative. Therefore, if you’re developing a character-focused RPG like Dragon Age: The Veilguard, receiving praise from someone as reputable as Adam Douse is undoubtedly advantageous.
“You might be asking, ‘Is this game suited to my experience from BG3?’” Douse reflected with his followers on X (formerly Twitter). “The straightforward answer is yes. It’s comparable to a well-crafted, character-centric series that you can’t wait to binge-watch after following a captivating, 9-season storyline.”
The Baldur’s Gate 3 developer complimented Dragon Age: The Veilguard’s storytelling, combat, and character dynamics, stating that it’s “the first Dragon Age title that genuinely understands its identity.”
This commendation comes from someone heavily involved in another iconic RPG. However, Dragon Age: The Veilguard won’t be widely accessible until October 31, 2024, and it remains to be seen how it will be received by the broader audience compared to those who had early access.
