The release of Patch 7 for Baldur’s Gate 3, which has been highly anticipated, is scheduled for later this year. The developers have also confirmed additional features that will be included in the mod support.
Baldur’s Gate 3 has recently released several patches that include updates to content, bug fixes, and the addition of new storylines, dialogue, and cutscenes for players to enjoy.
Patch 7, which is set to be released around September, has been greatly anticipated by players. The developers have recently revealed more details about what we can expect from this highly awaited patch.
To enhance the gameplay experience for those who choose not to play as Durge or do multiple playthroughs, the developers are introducing additional and enhanced evil endings. These will feature newly composed musical pieces and cinematic cutscenes.
In addition to the usual bug fixes and performance improvements, Patch 7 will also introduce official mod support for the game.
The Closed Alpha, which began on June 3, 2024, allows mod authors to participate in the gradual implementation of mod support and provide their feedback during the development process. In July, players will have the opportunity to sign up for the Closed Beta.

The Closed Beta will be open to 1,000 PC players, however, the method of registration has not been disclosed by the developers. We will update you with the necessary details as soon as further information is released.
The concept of implementing official mod support ensures that players can seamlessly add mods to the game without any compatibility issues. However, it should be noted that the official Baldur’s Gate 3 mod support will only be compatible with mod.io.
Despite this, you will still be able to utilize other mods. The only difference is that you will have two options available to you when modding the game.
In addition, the Toolkit is primarily designed for mod authors to have greater creative control over the mods they create for the game. Larian has also made several promises for Patch 7, including the following features:
- Access the editor in order to generate your own modifications.
- Mods can be uploaded directly to the mod.io servers.
- Load levels in read-only mode to view all local entities, as well as the setup, and test any modifications you have made in-game while creating them.
- Get entry to internal editors for approved asset types.
- Submit your mod for publication through the editor, where it will undergo moderation and become available to the public.
The Baldur’s Gate 3 Mod Toolkit will be first released for PC, with updates for consoles promised to be available shortly after, as stated in the latest community update by the developers.
