Baldur’s Gate 3 Developers Reveal Rare Lae’zel Ending Obtained by Only 34 Players

According to anniversary statistics shared by Larian Studios, only 34 players have experienced one of the rarest events in Baldur’s Gate 3.

To commemorate the game’s one-year anniversary, Larian Studios shared some intriguing statistics. According to these figures, a Reddit post by a fan showcases a highly uncommon event that can take place in Lae’zel’s Origin story.

Out of all the players who experienced the story of Lae’zel in Baldur’s Gate 3, only 34 chose to end their own lives after Vlaakith rejected her ascension.

Vlaakith, the leader of the Githyanki, made a promise to Lae’zel that she would be granted ascension if she retrieved the Mysterious Artefact. However, when Vlaakith reneges on her promise, the player is given the choice to end Lae’zel’s life.

The responses to this post were astounded by the statistic, not only because of the unexpected ending that few players were aware of, but also because of the extremely small percentage of players who have actually encountered this ending.

Despite being familiar with some of the game’s darkest endings, Baldur’s Gate 3 players were caught off guard by this particular one. While it may not be a common occurrence, the fact that it has been brought to attention will most likely motivate players to seek it out for themselves.

Several responses speculated on the process that led to this ending, with one person suggesting, “I believe you need to complete the Origin Lae’Zel quest, defeat Voss and Orpheus, possibly control the brain, and then be rejected.”

A curious fan in the replies shared that they were able to obtain this ending by advising, “simply act against Vlakith’s wishes and then proceed with Laezel’s origin ending.”

These discussions about extremely uncommon outcomes, like this one, motivate devoted players to uncover every possible conclusion in this game. It wouldn’t be surprising to see fans uncover even more elusive endings.
