Baldur’s Gate 3 Fans Request a Masquerade Ball DLC Instead of Traditional Content

Unfortunately, it seems that a Baldur’s Gate 3 DLC is not in the cards, as Larian has confirmed they will not be developing one. Despite this, players continue to advocate for other extravagant additions to be included in the game’s final major update.

On the Baldur’s Gate 3 Reddit, community members started discussing their ideal DLC locations, storylines, and features, with many suggesting Avernus, the Underdark, Candlekeep, or even more content set in Baldur’s Gate itself (as if Act III wasn’t already extensive enough).

Nevertheless, a user proposed a potential solution for the absence of a DLC by putting forth the concept of a small additional area, potentially serving as a fresh conclusion or even a quest within the game’s third section.

“One user commented on a ball held in the upper City, expressing their disappointment at being robbed of a beautiful formal event. This idea gained rapid popularity, with over 4k fans showing their agreement.”

Many others were also eager to support the notion, expressing their desire for a ball similar to the one featured in Dragon Age: Inquisition.

Some also emphasized the possible impact on the story: “I am fond of a captivating mystery during a ball, and I immensely enjoyed dancing with the antagonist and exposing the plot in the midst of the grand ballroom. That was the pinnacle of gaming for me.”

One person proposed, “What if we have a ball during a heist? The group can choose to either participate in or hinder the heist taking place in the vaults below, while the ball takes place in the palace above.”

In the world of D&D, the majority of players eagerly look forward to participating in a masquerade ball. These events typically involve elements of romance, mystery, and exciting subplots that often include intense roleplaying and battles. It is evident that fans would greatly appreciate a similar addition involving their beloved companions or even a formidable villain or hero.

One cannot deny the suitability of Raphael, Astarion (with his Vampiric character in the Masquerade), and Wyll in a ball setting within Baldur’s Gate 3.

Despite the absence of any mention of new features, we can still expect some new endings thanks to the early Patch 7 notes. While it may be unlikely to receive a major feature like a ball, there is always a possibility. Additionally, there will not be any DLC released.
