Baldur’s Gate 3 glitch ends Honor Mode run in an instant

Even in the best of situations, Baldur’s Gate 3 Honor Mode runs are risky. However, when a common platform glitch is added to the mix, it becomes a recipe for disaster.

The tale is one that has been told for centuries. Or at least since the introduction of Baldur’s Gate 3’s Honor Mode. This challenging version of Baldur’s Gate 3, where the game ends when your party falls, has countless opportunities for things to go awry.

Occasionally, the reason behind a situation is your own actions. Perhaps you simply overlooked the fact that Scratch is a well-behaved dog who enjoys playing fetch, or maybe you became too eager and made a deal with a succubus in exchange for your soul.

Unfortunately, the most devastating cases of Honor Mode failure occur when the fault lies entirely outside of your control. Chef_Koi_Lardy, a Reddit user, can attest to this after their entire party was wiped out in a matter of seconds due to a glitch in Baldur’s Gate 3.

While exploring the depths of Grymforge, Chef_Koi_Lardy encountered a well-known bug in Baldur’s Gate 3. They positioned their team on a moving platform in the dungeon and used an arrow to activate a switch, transporting their party across a chasm.

Sadly, due to a physics malfunction, their characters were not synchronized with the platform. This resulted in the platform moving while the party remained in place. As a result, the platform suddenly disappeared from under them, causing them to fall to their untimely demise and abruptly ending their journey.

Many other players of Baldur’s Gate 3 sympathized with Chef_Koi_Lardy and suggested ways to save scum in Honor Mode to prevent this from happening again.

“One user tried to console the situation by saying that there is no shame in resorting to some trickery when dealing with bugs like this.”

Despite being slightly angry, Chef_Koi_Lardy remains determined in their pursuit of the golden dice and has vowed to try again after taking some time to calm down. They stated, “I will definitely give it another shot once I have had a chance to catch my breath.”
