Baldur’s Gate 3 item glitch can stop players from teleporting

In Baldur’s Gate 3, there are certain items that can hinder the player by preventing them from using movement-based abilities and spells. These items can unintentionally cause difficulties for the player.

In comparison to D&D 5e, Baldur’s Gate 3’s combat mechanics heavily emphasize moving and utilizing vertical space. In this game, strategically pushing enemies off ledges can greatly contribute to achieving success, and creating hazardous terrain is a crucial defensive strategy.

Your party will have a plethora of choices when it comes to maneuvering their characters. Rogues can utilize Cunning Action to stealthily navigate the battlefield, while spellcasters can employ magic to levitate or instantly transport themselves to any desired location.

One problem that players may encounter concerns the use of magic items such as the Helldusk Boots, which are designed to prevent external forces from moving their characters. While these items are effective in stopping enemies from moving you, they can also hinder your ability to teleport to safety using spells.

As fans have discussed online, certain items such as the Helldusk Boots may prevent players from using spells like Dimension Door or Misty Step without warning, resulting in wasted turns.

By toggling them in the Passives menu, the items’ functionality can be disabled, but they should still be coded to function as intended without needing to be constantly toggled on and off when using movement-based powers.

This problem is particularly troublesome for individuals attempting Honour Mode runs, as they are limited to a single save file and death results in game over. If a magic item malfunctions, it can abruptly end the run.

Despite the fact that the next patch will be the final one to bring major content updates to Baldur’s Gate 3, the game will continue to receive additional updates and hotfixes. It is hoped that in the future, the issue of magic items interfering with movement will be resolved, giving players the ability to teleport to their desired locations.
