Baldur’s Gate 3 player learns the hard way not to loot corpses in front of traders

While looting corpses may seem like a natural action for most Baldur’s Gate 3 players, one individual learned the consequences of this behavior when certain NPCs did not approve.

One fan shared their thoughts on the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit about Quartermaster Talli, a simple trader from the Last Light Inn who deliberately worked against the mission to defeat Ketheric Thorm.

The first wave of combat left behind a trail of both enemy and ally corpses. The player shamelessly looted all of them, including fallen allies, but Talli took notice and deemed their actions dishonorable.

As a result, the player was thrown into Moonrise Tower Prison, much to their displeasure. The peculiar aspect of this circumstance is that Ketheric Thorm is currently in control of the Tower, making it unclear why Talli would choose to send the player there.

Regrettably, attempting to communicate with the trader who betrayed them after the incident does not provide any explanation. When Talli inquired about their demands, the player furiously stated, “what I require from [Talli] is for them to NOT BE INCARCERATED.”

The replies overwhelmingly cautioned the original poster against looting the Harpers’ corpses, pointing out that Quartermaster Talli was a member of the Harpers as well. They emphasized that looting the body of a fallen ally is a serious matter that should not be taken lightly.

Despite being aware that Talli was a Harper, the original poster did not anticipate her betrayal. However, a response served as a reminder that “red”is associated with stealing and can lead to trouble.

It is interesting to note that the player experienced being thrown in for a second time after reloading an old save and solely looting enemy corpses. It appears that the Harpers have a strong aversion towards looting bodies after death.

Despite the negative circumstances, the player was able to achieve the Escapologist Achievement, a prestigious honor given to those who successfully escape jail after being arrested. This accomplishment has only been attained by 29.6% of players on Steam.
