One player of Baldur’s Gate 3 has recently shared their experience of ignoring Withers’ warning and not following a specific path, explaining why it was ultimately a mistake.
In Baldur’s Gate 3, every decision carries weight and can lead to consequences. Certain actions, like revisiting a previous act or taking the hammer from Raphael’s house, may have more noticeable warnings than others.
Despite the warnings, one player has learned from experience not to ignore a warning from Withers. Despite the dire circumstances, the group persisted. With Wyll and Gale deceased, Shadowheart incapacitated, and Astarion barely clinging to one health point, it was up to him to engage Withers in hopes of turning the tide.

After receiving a sum of gold from Withers, the player was instructed to remain at a distance. “Well-counted. I suggest you stay back for a moment,”he said. However, the player remained still, and this is when the situation took a turn for the worse.
In a sudden turn of events, the player perished before their companions had a chance to revive them. According to the combat log, this was due to the Necrotic damage inflicted by Gale’s body, which took them by surprise and caused their immediate demise as their health was already low.
Fortunately, since this isn’t on Honor Mode, players have the option to save scum and avoid this outcome. However, some commenters still couldn’t resist making jokes about the situation.

“In the meantime, a player advised, “Prioritize healing before any other actions. I’ve witnessed my friends lose in games countless times because they neglect their health and end up getting killed by even the slightest danger. It’s important to be prepared for any potential threats.”
Taking precautions is always advisable, regardless of the difficulty level in Baldur’s Gate 3. This can prevent the need to redo tasks, ultimately saving a significant amount of time.
