A player of Baldur’s Gate 3 has successfully completed Act 1 without taking any short or long rests. The following explains their strategy.
After using all of your spell slots and being covered in blood in Baldur’s Gate 3, it is important to take a short or long rest. This will allow you to replenish your health and recharge certain actions, making it essential to manage your rests in the game.
It is worth noting that long resting not only allows the unlocking of camp dialogues and advancement of romance scenes, but it also plays a crucial role in the game mechanics. However, it seems that one skilled player has managed to complete Act 1 without utilizing this key feature, as shared in a Reddit thread. This accomplishment is quite impressive, considering the reliance on long resting for both exploration and battles.
According to a user, their brother unexpectedly found himself “teleported somewhere”while attempting the Mountain Pass route following his exploration of the Underdark. He was unsure of how to proceed since he was unaware that resting was an option in the game.
You can miss out on a lot of things if you skip long rests in Baldur’s Gate 3.
The user explained that this character miraculously made it through all of Act 1 by “staying close and constantly using health potions on everyone,”which they were not joking about. They also utilized Gale’s scrolls and searched for ingredients to craft more health potions.
The guy discovered the concept of alchemy in the game, but he was unaware that resting for a short period could also restore his health. He was not familiar with the game, as it did not align with his preferences. I simply suggested he give it a try. The game has a fair level of difficulty, yet remains well-balanced.
The players were shocked by the comments, with some expressing sympathy for the player who missed out on romantic and camp interactions in Act 1. However, a few of them admitted to having made the same mistake at some point, acknowledging that the game’s presentation may have played a role in their decision.
“One user commented that the character’s chances of romancing any of the companions were ruined. However, another player reassured that Lae’zel would still be interested in pursuing a romantic relationship with the character in the game.”
Despite the seriousness of the situation, there were those who couldn’t resist making a joke. “I can’t help but wonder how many times they had to hear the characters saying ‘I could really use a nap’,”one player quipped.
Another individual also shared that they had a similar experience when first playing the game. They believed that many tasks had a time limit, and that advancing to the next day would have negative consequences.
In any case, the player’s dedication was highly praised by others for being able to accomplish such a feat. They also assured him that his next playthrough would be even more enjoyable with the addition of new story elements.
