Baldur’s Gate 3 Player Regrets Saving This Corrupt Character For Nothing

A Baldur’s Gate 3 player is angry with himself for dropping rare armor to save Valeria, the Hollyphant.

Players can meet an investigator named Valeria while visiting the Bhaal Temple in Act 3 of Baldur’s Gate 3. The encounter occurs under unfortunate circumstances, as the Hollyphant is embroiled in a murder investigation.

Equally strange, Valeria also finds herself drawn into a series of challenges that users must complete if they want to unlock the incredibly rare Bhaalist Armor.

To obtain the armor, players must side with Bhaal and assume the title of Unholy Assassin. Killing Valeria is among the many tasks involved in accepting the aforementioned title. Having concluded this Hollyphant’s arc, one person now regrets taking the more moral route.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fan wishes he had killed Valeria

After freeing Valeria, Redditor Willow_rpg learned that the investigator had framed an innocent refugee for the Bhaal Temple murder.

It didn’t take long for the Baldur’s Gate 3 player to start regretting it. He wishes he had gone the Unholy Assassin route because at least he would have gotten some cool armor. “I can’t believe I gave up the Bhaaliste armor for this elephant,” he wrote in frustration.

In the Reddit post, the user notes that Valeria had once complimented their Tav on his courage, insight and heroism. The Redditor fumed: “She is clearly wrong on the insight point. Otherwise, I would have had enough insight into her personality to know that killing her for this equipment is better than saving her.”

Other Baldur’s Gate 3 fans have noted that things are getting worse when it comes to Valeria. Apparently, the character’s epilogue letter features a confession in which she claims to have solved the murder case alone. Valeria “is clearly not an example to follow,” the user added.

Someone else thinks the investigator is so despicable that killing her is the only evil act they commit during every playthrough of Baldur’s Gate 3. “The only consistently evil thing I do even during a good part. Sorry, Valeria, I value a piece of armor that increases Astarion’s damage more than I value your life.”

It’s hardly surprising that Valeria quickly became one of the most controversial NPCs in Baldur’s Gate 3.
