Baldur’s Gate 3 Players Are Obsessed With This D&D Character

The Baldur’s Gate 3 fanbase rejoiced over the defeat of one of the game’s most powerful dragons, which was accomplished by the paws of an unlikely Dungeons & Dragons character.

The Druid and Ranger class in many RPGs are known for their “pet” gameplay, where they fight alongside animals in battle. Baldur’s Gate 3 is no exception, especially with the Ranger’s Beastmaster subclass, which gets an animal companion for the rest of the game.

Throughout D&D’s history, many Rangers have fought alongside cool animals, like wolves or hawks. Perhaps the most famous Ranger is Drizzt Do’Urden from the D&D novels, whose animal companion is a magical panther.

Not everyone gets a cool animal companion in D&D, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be effective in battle. The second most famous Ranger in D&D, Minsc, is notorious for having a small animal companion, but he has survived more adventures than most player characters.

Boo the hamster killed a dragon in Baldur’s Gate 3

A user on the Baldur’s Gate 3 Reddit revealed how they defeated Ansur, the undead dragon in Act III. They did this with the help of Boo, the hamster, who managed to strike a lucky blow under the effect of the Blessing spell, allowing him to kill the necrotic wyrm.

“Don’t underestimate Boo, from the old games he has fought Beholders, Liches, powerful wizards, several spawn of Bhaal, demigods, powerful demons and more,” one player rightly pointed out, “To At this point, a dracolich is just breakfast for him.”

“Never underestimate a miniature giant space hamster. This will be the last thing you do,” one user wrote, while another said, “You are an unlikely hero, Boo has saved the world many times.”

Several users repeated Minsc’s famous catchphrase, saying, “Aim for the eyes Boo!” but as another user pointed out, “In this case… ‘aim for the holes where the eyes should be'”, since Ansur lacks eyes in his undead form.

One of the worst aspects of Baldur’s Gate 3 is that you can’t recruit Minsc and Boo to your team until the end of the game, with many players not bothering because they already have an effective setup that they have used up to this point.

If Baldur’s Gate 3 receives a major content update in the future, hopefully it will give players the chance to recruit Minsc much earlier, allowing Boo the opportunity to kill even more monsters.
