Baldur’s Gate 3 players can finally comfort Shadowheart since patch 6

Since patch 6, Baldur’s Gate 3 players can finally console Shadowheart at a crucial moment in its story.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting Baldur’s Gate 3 patch 6 after Larian Studios gave numerous teasers for the new affection animations to come, including new kissing scenes for Shadowheart and Astarion.

The community came together to collectively cause the release of a patch on Valentine’s Day. However, Larian had other plans and decided to troll the community with hilarious Pengu gifs before releasing the patch on February 16.

Now that the patch is out, players are excited to be able to hold Shadowheart for an emotional moment in the final Act of the game. Warning, spoilers for Act 3!

Baldur’s Gate players can finally comfort Shadowheart with a hug since patch 6

In Act 3, there are two options for the fate of Shadowheart’s parents. Players can choose to save them or let them perish. Regardless of the choice, the scene ends with Shadowheart crying.

Before the release of Patch 6, the player had no other option than to sit there, uncomfortable, and let Shadowheart deal with her emotions on her own. However, now players have the option to comfort her with a hug. Which makes sense, especially if the player is romantically involved with her.

“Finally!» exclaimed a player. “One of the worst parts of the game was just having to stand there and watch her cry.”

Other members of the community were also happy to hear the news about Shadowheart. However, some took the opportunity to suggest that another character could use a hug after a traumatic moment.

“I want to be able to do this with Astarion when he kills Cazador and starts crying,” another commenter said. “I just want to be able to hold him.”

Larian Studios has taken note of players’ desire to interact more with their romantic partners in the game. This means that further updates regarding other relationships could be added in future Baldur’s Gate 3 patches.
