Baldur’s Gate 3 players claim developers overlooked important part of Wyll’s character development

Some players of Baldur’s Gate 3 believe that the developers may have overlooked an important part of Wyll’s character development in Act 1, as one player was surprised to find a lack of dialogue when encountering Mizora.

The world of Baldur’s Gate 3 is simply enchanting. With its numerous characters, locations, and interactions scattered across the vast and expansive land, it’s not surprising that players often find themselves immersed in the mystical world of Faerun.

The world of Faerun is characterized by a strong sense of continuity, where every player’s decision can have far-reaching consequences. This applies to character stories as well, as once a choice is made, it cannot be undone within the same play-through.

Despite Larian Studios’ diligent efforts to maintain consistency and attention to detail, there are some players who believe that a crucial part of Wyll’s character development in Act 1 may have been overlooked by the developers.

Larian failed to take into consideration this about Wyll byu/PaladinDanceALot inBaldursGate3

After making the decision to kill Karlach in Act 1, the players were confused. They chose to trust the paladins of Tyr and accepted the task of defeating Karlach. Without first communicating with each other, they charged into battle against Karlach.

“It was noted that Wyll and the player were only aware of Karlach as a dangerous creature that needed to be eliminated, without any indication to the contrary. This caused confusion when Wyll expressed remorse for killing a seemingly innocent Tiefling, as neither he nor the other party members were aware of this information.”

Additional users joined in on the discussion, also finding the gap in the lore intriguing: “Even though the Paladins of Tyr demanded her execution, it seems odd that no one noticed anything was amiss.”

Thankfully, a knowledgeable lore master devised an explanation for this: when killed, devils are sent back to their home plane, indicating that Karlach’s death was not that of a Devil. However, this realization comes too late to save her.

Ultimately, there was a lore explanation for all of this, suggesting that the developers had carefully considered all potential scenarios to ensure that players remain fully immersed in the game.
