Baldur’s Gate 3 has been hailed as having some of the best-written companions in RPG history, but one player discovered a surprising detail about them.
Baldur’s Gate 3 has been one of the most important names in video game history since its release. With innovative D&D-style gameplay and impeccable character design, Baldur’s Gate 3 has been heralded by many as a must-play game for RPG enthusiasts.
Although companions in Baldur’s Gate 3 feature some of the most complex quests in the game, one player discovered a surprising detail about them that left some disappointed.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Player Discovers Companions Don’t Get Along
User Pppkd posted about this on Reddit. He said: “It turns out our companions didn’t get along that much.” To prove it, he shared screenshots of companions interacting with each other when alone.

The user claimed that he was “disappointed”because they had gone through a lot of difficult things together, in the game. And yet, the companions don’t even share a “simple greeting.”
For context, players can control any companion. They can then interact with others present in the camp as long as the player character is not there. However, in doing so, it was revealed that the companions did not want to talk to each other. Even Shadowheart had cold dialogue like “I’m not answering you – move on.”
In the comments, players expressed their own disappointment. The poster was definitely not the only one to be disappointed by the “cold dialogues” between the companions. Indeed, others wanted “the game to have moments of team bonding” . Some even claimed that these dialogues weren’t “consistent”for most of the companions in Baldur’s Gate 3. Another fan even claimed: “It’s all bootlicking with Tav, envious of whoever is chosen to investigate. “.
Perhaps a future update will fix this issue which seems to be affecting Baldur’s Gate 3 players.
