Baldur’s Gate 3 fans have noticed a small detail about the Guardian Angel that quickly gives a clue to its true nature.
Many fans who have played Baldur’s Gate 3 will remember that the game throws players right into the action, right into the heart of a massive nautiloid ship that washes up on a deserted beach.
However, Larian Studios quickly introduced a sort of guide during the first hours of Act 1 through the character who visits you in your dreams: the Guardian Angel.
While many players initially see this character as a source of comfort, some eagle-eyed players have noticed a detail that gives an early clue to the true nature of Baldur’s Gate 3’s Guardian Angel.
Baldur’s Gate 3 players spot important detail about the Dream Visitor
On Reddit, player u/Loth-sworn_drow shared his discovery on the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit. He asked the community: “Is it just me or has someone else noticed too that? “.
He then explained, “I recently started a new game and had my first encounter with the Dream Visitor… I played a few games and how did I just now notice that Gayle is the only one who calls the visitor ‘she.’ Everyone else just says ‘the dream visitor’ or ‘they’.”
Many players participated in the conversation in the comments. “Yeah, they appear differently for each character,” one fan clarified. “Gayle’s is feminine and Karlach sees them as ‘The Golden Paladin’.”
Another player said: “They also behave differently for each companion depending on the personality of the companion. Lae’zel, for example, mentions that her dream visitor showers her with admiration and adoration.
Those who have reached Act 3 know exactly why this clue is important, as the Emperor finally sheds his ‘Dream Visitor’ mask once the final act begins to unfold.
The Emperor also openly confirms that he changes his appearance to better gain your trust during a certain dialogue. And to think that all this was subtly announced from the start of the adventure of Baldur’s Gate 3.
