Baldur’s Gate 3 players believe Hotfix 16 is causing quest item bugs. They therefore listed the objects affected by the problem.

Baldur’s Gate 3 hotfix patch 16 was recently deployed. Relatively small, it nevertheless introduced many changes. The patch notes outline multiple bug fixes, combat and balance adjustments, gameplay improvements, UI fixes, and more.

However, since the hotfix was released, Baldur’s Gate 3 players have also encountered several errors, especially with quest items. The problem is that the game occasionally refuses to recognize that a player has access to quest items like the Orphic Hammer or the Spear of Night.

Since users continue to report these issues, someone came up with the idea of compiling each buggy object into a handy reference list.

Redditor u/JusticeofTorenOneEsk started the list in question, noting that he had noticed an “influx of posts about the game not not realizing that the characters have a specific item needed for a quest.”

The user assumed that Hotfix 16 must be the culprit. He then thought it would be better if the community pooled its resources. However, some players have found alternative solutions to bugged items.

For example, those having problems accessing the Grim Gate with the Szarr Family Ring and Kozakuran Dictionary should try casting the Arcane Lock spell on the gate. Unfortunately, there are no known solutions for items such as the Amulet of Bhaal, Caravan Chest, and Night Spear.

Other Baldur’s Gate 3 players have since shared their own issues with Hotfix 16. One person said that since the hotfix, Dammon no longer accepts Infernal Iron in Act 1.

Several others added that they have also encountered the errors listed above and encourage users to report any errors as soon as possible. “PLEASE – report all bugs directly to Larian when you encounter them. This is the only way they will know there are significant problems,” one response reads.
