Baldur’s Gate 3 players are celebrating an easy-to-miss companion who has some truly incredible one-liners.
Baldur’s Gate 3 offers a variety of companions to recruit. But beyond fan favorites like Astarion, Shadowheart and Karlach, some are quite easy to miss.
Among them is Minsc, a character present in the first two Baldur’s Gate games. The ranger and his faithful hamster companion Boo can be recruited during Act 3. However, you have to go through another easy-to-miss companion, Jaheira, to recruit them. This is why many players probably never added them to their team.
Reddit users had a lot to say about this. Indeed, they consider that Minsc has arguably some of the best lines of dialogue in all of Baldur’s Gate 3.

In all three Baldur’s Gate games, Minsc is, to be honest, not the sharpest knife in the drawer. He goes everywhere with Bouh, his hamster, with whom he sincerely believes he can talk, and has a very Manichean vision of good and evil.
It also helps that he’s voiced by Critical Role’s Matt Mercer, who delivers lines like “No, it’s a hamster”and “Life is simple, just like Minsc”with hilarious seriousness.

But although Minsc may appear “simple”, other commenters praised its “heartbreaking”serious moments. This includes the moment when Minsc doesn’t understand why Jaheira is angry with him because, as the user paraphrases, “What good am I good for if not to die to protect you?”»
