Baldur’s Gate 3 Players Speculate Alfira Will Join Party in Next Update

Alfira, a well-loved NPC in Baldur’s Gate 3, has caused many players to experience heartbreak during their Durge run. However, she was not previously available as a fully recruitable companion. That has now changed.

(Spoilers for a Dark Urge run ahead.) If you have chosen to play as a Dark Urge, it is likely that you have encountered the ‘Alfira experience’. In this event, she requests to join your camp, much to the excitement of unsuspecting players. However, as night falls, your Dark urges consume you and she unfortunately does not survive.

The entire community had been excited by the idea of recruiting her as a companion, so it was a huge disappointment when it turned out to be a betrayal by the plot.

Despite this, there may be changes on the horizon. As more details were revealed in the seventh major patch prior to its release, members of the Baldur’s Gate 3 Reddit community have noticed significant alterations to Alfira.

Looks like Alfira will indeed be recruitable in Patch 7 byu/Successful_Wafer3099 inBaldursGate3

One user posted that it seems Alfira will be recruitable in Patch 7, pointing out the bullet point mentioning her ability to be leveled up. However, it is uncertain if this confirms her recruitment as only companions and the player can currently level up in the game.

Undeniably, this caused a great deal of excitement among the player base, sparking numerous celebratory comments: “Wow, this is amazing! When can we expect the patch?”

Some expressed caution, saying: “While I would love for Alfira to join us permanently, I do consider the amount of dialogue and paths that would need to be added, as well as potential endings. The developers have surprised us before, but it seems more probable that she will be a temporary addition as a fan service, rather than fully integrated into the game.”

Despite the skepticism, some players believed that the delay in patch 7 could be due to the addition of new lines. They suggested that the recording process for the Alfira voice actor may have caused the delay and hoped for the best.

It remains to be seen if Alfira will become a companion, but providing her with the ability to level up “could offer modders a potential opportunity”for her to become a companion in the future, regardless of whether it happens in patch 7 or not.

Despite no official confirmation for Alfira, the community remains hopeful for the bard and would be excited to see her perform more than just one night.
