Baldur’s Gate 3 Players Speculate Helldivers 2 Soldiers are Agents of the Absolute

Some Baldur’s Gate 3 players have noticed a potential link to Helldivers 2 through a recently introduced mission type where players must protect a larva. This has triggered memories of mind flayers for BG3 players.

Both fandoms have united because of a worm. Fans of Baldur’s Gate 3, who are familiar with tadpoles that infect brains and control their hosts as pawns of the Absolute, have noticed similarities in Helldivers 2’s latest update.

The teaser for Helldivers 2’s Escalation of Freedom update features a new backpack adorned with a weeping larva.

Upon discovering similarities in the lore, BG3 fans flocked to the game’s Reddit forum. The post’s author confidently stated, channeling Lae’zel’s voice, “Tsk’va, the helldivers serve as agents of the Absolute.”

One mischievous player commented, “I bet Lae’zel has logged at least 3000 hours in this game.”Another chimed in, “Oh yeah, and she’d totally be the one using a flamethrower on her own teammates and then refusing to help them if she thinks they’re not pulling their weight.”

In defense of Helldivers 2, a player clarified, “They are capturing the bugs for research purposes in order to improve their tactics and ultimately defeat them. They would not hesitate to use a 500kg bomb on the Absolute.”

Given that the primary focus of Helldivers 2 is to combat extraterrestrial dangers in order to reclaim previously inhabited planets, that statement appears to be accurate.

Despite the original Reddit post in the Helldivers 2 subreddit, players remained uncertain about the usefulness of the worm backpack. They questioned the decision to have players gather bugs instead of simply exterminating them.

Despite the playful banter and wild speculation, both Baldur’s Gate 3 and Helldivers 2 are thriving. Baldur’s Gate 3 is preparing for Patch 7, while Helldivers 2 enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the Escalation of Freedom update.

It is heartwarming to witness the coming together of communities, even if it is due to a common interest in invertebrates. It appears that worms have the power to unite people and spark conversation.
