In Baldur’s Gate 3, players can explore the storylines of all the game’s companions through the use of Origin characters. However, it seems that one particular character has been overlooked by fans until now.
Baldur’s Gate 3’s Wyll is known for being the archetypal fantasy hero, who made the heartbreaking decision to form a pact with a demon in his quest for justice. While many players may initially find him uninteresting, his fans have recently uncovered that playing as the villainous Origin Wyll truly elevates his story to the level of a Game of Thrones-worthy narrative.
According to a player on Reddit, the experience of playing as the evil Origin Wyll allows one to embody a manipulative character who deceives others into believing they are a hero, when in reality, they are only looking out for themselves. Others who have played this route also stated that it brings a unique and “fresh”perspective to the story.
Some fans of Evil Wyll also pointed out that this playthrough not only involves betraying his father, Grand Duke Ravengard, but also fully embracing a power-hungry persona and displaying deceitful behavior that far surpasses a Dark Urge playthrough.

Some fans of Baldur’s Gate 3 argue that even after renouncing his pact, Wyll has the ability to form a friendship with the devil Mizora, who sees him as an equal and chooses to remain at their camp for a more comfortable environment. Alternatively, some believe that playing as the “Blade of Frontiers” with a megalomaniacal mindset will result in Wyll ultimately saving his father, only to betray and kill him with his own hands.
“According to a player who enjoys this type of storyline, as Wyll, you are responsible for ensuring Ulder’s death. The interesting part is that after agreeing to Gortash’s alliance and fulfilling the deal, you can quickly go to the Iron Throne and complete the task of “Killing the Duke”. If all goes according to plan, Wyll will receive a dream of becoming a duke and taking over his father’s position.”
Despite usually being perceived as a “goody-goody”character, players acknowledged that this portrayal remained consistent with how Larian Studios depicted Wyll in Early Access. According to one comment, he was initially more arrogant, using his “hero”persona as a front while still needing to mature into it. Alternatively, depending on choices made, he could also be seen as a skilled manipulator, concealing his true nature as a deceitful individual.
As a result, players of Baldur’s Gate 3 highly suggest trying out the evil Origin Wyll character at least once. For more information on Larian Studios’ RPG, you can find out the locations of Zevlor and the discovery of a crate filled with tadpoles by BG3 players.
