Baldur’s Gate 3 players want Gortash to get the ending he deserves

Baldur’s Gate 3 players with a soft spot for Gortash are hoping for the character to finally receive a better ending in a future content update.

As one of the RPG’s main antagonists, opinions on Gortash are divided within the Baldur’s Gate 3 community. His role as a political sidekick to the ruthless tyrant Bane causes many players to dislike him.

However, some think it deserves at least a better, more balanced ending. Currently, the Venerable Brain is killing Gortash, regardless of whether or not the players want the politician’s machinations to succeed.

A Reddit user recently started a discussion on the subject. He wondered why there was “no way to save him.”

The player said, “Why isn’t there an ending where Gortash stays alive…if I make a deal with Gortash, I’m already giving up the Gondians, Ulder Ravenguard, and Omeluum, why is that I get absolutely nothing in return? “.

Several Baldur’s Gate 3 players have expressed agreement that Gortash deserves a better ending. One user called it “the most disappointing outcome in the game”, regretting sacrificing a few quests to side with Gortash for what turned out to be a “super lame”ending.

As Larian recently teased the future addition of “truly evil”endings, others are hoping Gortash gets what he deserves. One player wrote: “I heard recently that Larian is working on some evil endings… I still have hope that one of them ends with your alliance with Gorty having a future.”

Others disagreed, arguing that Gortash has already gotten the finale he deserves. One comment said: “He got what he deserved and the way he dies is actually quite funny.”However, this person noted that they understand why those who play evil are not satisfied.

Another user finally said that this all fits into the overall story. Gortash and the other chosen ones like him in Baldur’s Gate 3 made deals with their Gods. “And their deaths show the indifferent cruelty of their Gods.”

Ultimately, only time will tell if Larian finds it worthwhile to explore Gortash further.
