After completing my third playthrough, I was amazed to see an imp that I had never encountered before, as mentioned in this post. The Cursed Fiend is highly feared because of its Caustic Retort ability, which causes any damage inflicted upon it to be immediately reflected back at the attacker in the form of Acid. Unlike the one-time reaction seen in D&D 5E rules, this occurs with every single attack.
Fortunately, players discovered a relatively simple method to handle this invincible entity from the infernal realm of the Nine Hells.
One player suggested that the best solution would be to simply toss it over the side, as the damage would then result from the fall.
Regrettably, the Cursed Fiend is at a disadvantage as it faces you on a ship. This allows for an instant defeat by throwing it into the sea. The acid counter attack is rendered useless as it is not you who is inflicting damage, but rather the environment.
It is no secret that Larian Studios has hidden numerous amazing surprises throughout Baldur’s Gate 3. However, in order to uncover them, one must play through the entire game. While it may be tempting to start over with a new character, it is recommended to complete the story at least once and fully explore the streets of Baldur’s Gate to find all of its hidden treasures.
