The Baldur’s Gate 3 community has uncovered that Elminster, a well-known character in Dungeons and Dragons, is not portrayed as a human in the game. Rather, his character sheet labels him as a Construct, adding to the game’s lore.
Elminster, a beloved figure in the D&D universe, is often portrayed as a wise and formidable spellcaster at level 20. This iconic character has been featured in the pages of Forgotten Realms comic books and has also made appearances in other D&D games such as Neverwinter Online.
Until now, Elminster has always been portrayed as a human, much to the delight of Dungeons and Dragons fans.
During an examination of the character sheet of the supposed Elminster, a player of Baldur’s Gate 3 made a startling discovery. It turns out that the “Weary Traveler”is not the legendary wizard, but rather a mere Construct.
Feeling surprised, the player turned to Reddit in search of clarification. The community verified the revelation: Elminster is not featured in the game.

The “man”encountered at the start of Act 2 is actually a robot, created by Elminster using a simulacrum spell. If he were not disguised, he would bear a striking resemblance to Bernard.
The genuine Elminster assigned this synthetic messenger with the important duty of delivering a crucial message from Mystra to Gale in Baldur’s Gate 3, which drives his character development.
The players’ responses varied from amusement to humor. One player, however, was particularly offended and commented, “Elminster couldn’t even bother to inform Gale himself.”Another player in the BG3 group playfully quipped, “And yet he still expected us to feed him.”
