Banks Claims “Bad Timing” is the Cause of Criticism for Lunchly

After the criticism surrounding the launch of Lunchly, the collaboration between Logan Paul and KSI’s Prime and MrBeast’s Feastables, FaZe Banks stepped forward to defend the product.

On September 16, 2024, during an Instagram Live, Prime announced a partnership with MrBeast to introduce their latest offering, Lunchly, which directly competes with the popular Lunchables brand.

Lunchly features three different entrees – Nachos, Pizza, and Turkey “Stack ‘Ems” – along with a mini Feastables chocolate bar and a bottle of Prime Hydration.

Unfortunately, the launch faced significant backlash, garnering negative responses from dietitians and other creators, including xQc and DanTDM.

On October 3, FaZe Banks appeared on the FULL SEND podcast, where he shared his views on Lunchly, ultimately defending it.

Banks posited that the severe criticism stemmed from the poor timing of the launch, coinciding with MrBeast’s controversies involving Kris Tyson and former crew members. He also compared it favorably to the Prime launch, which he highly praised.

“Prime is going to be studied for decades as an example of a perfect product launch,” Banks stated. “Logan Paul and KSI attracted the attention of the entire internet; everyone is involved in this drama, this rivalry.”

He emphasized that this situation led to a divided public, eager to see who would emerge victorious. When Logan later lost to KSI and managed to “humble himself,” he decided to collaborate with KSI.

“They chose to channel the energy from their rivalry into a product. And that’s exactly what happened, launching at the height of their individual success – it’s a textbook example,” he explained.

Banks continued, “With Lunchly, MrBeast is in the middle of drama with Kris Tyson… Throughout my time online, MrBeast has never faced this kind of scrutiny.”

“Similarly, Logan Paul is also entangled in the Coffeezilla controversy. Everyone involved is dealing with their own issues, and then they put out a product like Lunchly, which I personally believe is not that offensive. People are overreacting to it.”

Following the podcast, he expressed his thoughts further in a tweet on X, stating: “It’s unfortunate, but the same folks criticizing Mr. Beast, KSI & Logan for launching a Lunchables rival are now celebrating Kai Cenat’s McDonald’s partnership.”

“For clarity, I think both are commendable. It’s just disheartening to see some people being so hypocritical that I had to point it out.”
