Despite the continued backlash against ZEROBASEONE member Kim Jiwoong, banners calling for his withdrawal from the group have recently been seen.
Earlier this year, Kim Jiwoong faced accusations of behaving rudely towards fans. A fan had recorded a video call and shared it online, in which Kim Jiwoong could be heard using profanity after he believed the call had ended.
Regrettably, the fan was still on the call and inquired if he was using profanity towards her and the other fans who were waiting to meet him.
Despite WAKEONE’s announcement that they will be pursuing legal action against individuals spreading misinformation and malicious comments against their artists, Kim Jiwoong has not yet issued a statement on the matter.
On May 13, 2024, a popular South Korean online community forum called TheQoo uploaded a post titled “Banners calling for the withdrawal of ZEROBASEONE’s Kim Jiwoong.”
At that location, the initial poster posted a tweet from a union calling for Kim Jiwoong to be removed from ZEROBASEONE. The tweet mentioned that the second banner was used to protest Kim Jiwoong’s membership in ZEROBASEONE. The banner was displayed between May 7 and May 9.

The banners displayed the messages, “Kim Jiwoong should apologize for his swearing and withdraw,””Kim Jiwoong is causing harm to the group and should withdraw,”and “WAKEONE must take responsibility for their inaction during this critical situation.”
The post caused shock among those who saw it, as they believed that Kim Jiwoong had already departed from the group. Numerous individuals expressed sympathy for the fans, acknowledging that it must be difficult to support a group with a member embroiled in such controversy.
Despite remaining silent for several months, Kim Jiwoong received criticism from others who accused him of being shameless and causing harm to ZEROBASEONE.
