Baseball Stadium Hires AI-Powered Robot Bartender

An ‘ADAM’ robot bartender has recently been installed at Globe Life Fields, the stadium of the Texas Rangers, to provide beverage service to attendees of baseball games.

The serving of drinks at a stadium is not a novel concept. However, the use of an AI-powered robot to handle refreshments behind the counter is certainly innovative.

‘ADAM’, the AI-powered humanoid bartender robot, has been impressively serving customers at Globe Life Fields, the home of the Texas Rangers baseball team.

The installation of the robot, developed by Richtech Robotics based in Nevada, took place on July 24, 2024.

Ever since its debut, the “human-like”bartender has served more than 500 beverages to baseball enthusiasts in its first week of operation, ranging from Lemon Drops to Whiskey Sours.

The AI-powered bartender has gone as far as dressing in a Texas Rangers cap and shirt to serve fans, truly embodying the spirit of being a part of the team.

According to Richtech Robotics, ADAM utilizes AI, advanced sensors, and two robotic arms to expertly mimic human actions.

In addition to a group of human bartenders, the robot is capable of making various cocktails and mocktails, allegedly reducing waiting times for baseball enthusiasts.

Despite being the 10th permanent installation of its kind, ADAM holds the distinction of being the first humanoid robot bartender in any major league sports arena or large-scale entertainment venue. It joins another similar installation that previously served Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang.

Richtech Robotics has recently introduced their advanced robotic technology for enhanced personalized hospitality experiences. As a result, One Kitchen in Rockford, IL Walmart and Ghost Kitchens in Dawsonville, GA have also implemented ADAM robots.

According to Matt Casella, Richtech Robotics’ President, there has been a surge in popularity for ADAM in recent months following its successful debut of advanced AI features at CES 2024. The company is thrilled to maintain this momentum by introducing ADAM to the prestigious Globe Life Field.

According to Casey Rapp, General Manager of Globe Life Field for Delaware North, the installment of ADAM is anticipated to draw a “lineup of enthusiastic fans”during game days.

If you would like to personally meet ADAM, the robot can now be found permanently stationed at the concessions bar across from the entrance of Section 111 in the Texas Rangers stadium.

AI and robotics have experienced an increase in 2024. Recently, it was reported that Apple is working on a tabletop robot and creating an AI personality for it.

In the meantime, a team of scientists in Switzerland has developed a robot that can be consumed as food. Additionally, a new humanoid with a modern, adaptable design has been revealed by Boston Dynamics.
