This latest promotional video for the Batman Ninja vs Yakuza League anime film not only showcases the film’s central plot but also provides a glimpse into the thrilling action that fans can expect when it debuts in theaters. At the time of this writing, the project remains without a set release date or window, but it will be featured at New York Comic-Con 2024. It is anticipated that the film’s release date or window will be announced during this event.

New Cast Announcements for Batman Ninja vs Yakuza League Anime Film

The recent promotional video for the Batman Ninja vs Yakuza League anime revealed a total of six new Japanese cast members. These talented individuals include Yuki Kaji, Kengo Kawanishi, Daisuke Ono, Akira Ishida, Hochu Ohtsuka, and Masaki Terasoma, who will voice Robin, Red Robin, Nightwing, Red Hood, Alfred, and Jim Gordon respectively. As previously mentioned, Koichi Yamadera will reprise his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman.

Additionally, the film is set to participate in New York Comic-Con’s “Bats in Translation” panel scheduled for Thursday, October 17, 2024, at 3 PM EDT, where a release window is expected to be announced. The film appears likely to premiere by early 2025 at the latest, with a late 2024 release being a possibility, although this seems less likely given that the recent promotional video is only the second for the project.

It is also expected that further cast announcements will focus on the film’s villains. This trend indicates that the casting news shared thus far pertains primarily to Batman’s allies, with no mention of any villain roles, further reinforcing the idea that the recent announcements may mark the conclusion of casting for Batman’s supporting characters in the film.

Returning from the previous film, Batman Ninja, directors Junpei Mizusaki and Kamikaze Douga collaborate on the Batman Ninja vs Yakuza League anime film, alongside Shinji Takagi. Douga is also responsible for animating the film, with a returning team that includes scriptwriter Kazuki Nakashima, character designer Takashi Okazaki, and composer Yugo Kanno.

The original Batman Ninja film premiered in April 2018 through digital platforms, followed by a home video release in the subsequent month that included both the original Japanese and English dubs. The film debuted in Japanese theaters in June 2018 and was later aired on Toonami in October 2021. This film uniquely portrayed Batman traveling back to Japan’s Warring States period, battling iconic villains such as The Joker, who had assumed the roles of feudal lords.
