Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League Trailer Unveiled by Warner Bros. Japan at New York Comic-Con

The first announcement regarding the project took place at New York Comic-Con 2024.

Initially introduced in May 2024, Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League serves as a sequel to the acclaimed 2018 anime film Batman Ninja. Subsequently, Warner Bros. Japan shared key visuals and the inaugural promotional video at Anime Expo 2024 just a few months later.

Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League: Main Trailer and Cast Details Revealed

On October 17, 2024, Warner Bros. Japan hosted a stage event called Bats in Translation during New York Comic-Con. This event provided insights into Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League, alongside announcements about Batman Azteca: Choque De Imperios.

During the event, attendees were treated to the film’s main trailer and a lineup of new cast members. Additionally, the first ten minutes of the film were screened, followed by an engaging Q&A session featuring Director Jumpei Mizusaki, producer Shinji Takagi, and Screenwriter Kazuki Nakashima.

The 90-second trailer for Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League showcases Batman’s return to modern Gotham after his adventures in medieval Japan, accompanied by a strange phenomenon. The trailer begins with an ominous Yakuza storm warning, indicating that numerous Yakuza members are mysteriously descending upon Gotham City, the origin of which lies with the island of Japan floating ominously above.

Former Justice League heroes Green Lantern, Aquaman, and The Flash have been transformed into Yakuza and confront Batman, who is on a mission to reclaim his city from these new threats.

The trailer also introduces Ra’s al Ghul, the leader of the League of Assassins, who raises questions about “the new world brought forth by the Yakuza League.”Wonder Woman makes a notable appearance, brought to life by a traditional Japanese ballad accompanying her actions.

Importantly, the trailer confirms that the anime film will be available for Home Entertainment release in 2025.

Along with the trailer, Warner Bros. Japan announced the cast members for several significant characters, including Green Lantern, Aquaman, The Flash, Wonder Woman, and Ra’s al Ghul.

Ayane Sakura will voice Green Lantern, a role she has mastered previously as Yotsuba Nakano in The Quintessential Quintuplets, Gabi Braun in Attack on Titan, and more.

Akio Otsuka lends his voice to Aquaman, recognized for his prior roles as Shunsui Kyoraku in Bleach and All For One in My Hero Academia.

Noboyuki Hiyama takes on the role of The Flash, acclaimed for voicing characters like Saw Pain Yoroizuka in Kengan Ashura and Hiei in YuYu Hakusho.

Romi Park steps in as Wonder Woman, with a notable history of roles like Hange Zoe in Attack on Titan, and Temari in Naruto and Boruto.
