Beloved Actor Reveals What It Would Take to Bring Him Back for a Harry Potter TV Series

Actor Matthew Lewis, known for his role as Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter films, shared that he would consider joining the cast of the upcoming TV series if there was a way for the show to further develop his character.

Many fans are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to see their beloved actors reprise their legendary roles in the upcoming Harry Potter TV series being developed at Max.

Despite the fact that none of the original eight movies’ cast members have confirmed their return for any cameos, Lewis, known for his portrayal of Neville Longbottom, revealed the sole reason that would motivate him to come back to the Wizarding World.

“While it’s not currently a project I am actively pursuing or have a desire to do, I wouldn’t reject the idea,”Lewis shared with People Magazine. He expressed interest in seeing a potential reboot of the Harry Potter series featuring an adult Neville, stating that it would bring a different energy to the character. Lewis added that he would definitely consider the opportunity if it were presented to him.

Fans would undoubtedly be delighted to witness Neville’s success as an adult, as his transformation throughout the Harry Potter movies established him as a beloved wizard for many.

Despite his curiosity about Neville’s growth since the Battle of Hogwarts, Lewis clarified that he is not in a hurry to return to that world.

The actor revealed, “I initially pursued this career because I have a tendency to lose focus easily. I struggle to commit to anything for an extended period of time. Throughout the years, I have had numerous hobbies and interests, none of which I have continued. I tend to become infatuated with things and then quickly lose interest.”

“Throughout my career, I’ve taken on various roles such as a nurse, police officer, soldier, and even a wizard. I thrive on the uncertainty of what’s to come and embrace the excitement of constantly taking on new challenges.”

Despite Lewis appearing undecided about revisiting his Harry Potter past, his colleague Daniel Radcliffe has explicitly stated that he has no interest in being involved in the television adaptation.

“I have no intention of actively pursuing it,”Radcliffe confessed to ComicBook.com. “As far as I know, they are aiming to completely start over and I imagine whoever is in charge will want to put their own spin on it and most likely not include an older version of Harry in a cameo role.”

Despite the absence of any confirmed cast members, it has been announced that the debut season of the Harry Potter TV series will air in 2026.
