Below Deck crew member defends Barbie’s dramatic Season 11 exit

During the Below Deck Season 11 finale, Ben Willoughby expressed his thoughts on Barbie Pascual’s sudden departure.

Despite being caught up in numerous dramatic situations on Below Deck Season 11, Stew Barbie Pascual successfully navigated through the entire season and remained until the final charter.

During the last crew night out on May 27, she engaged in a heated argument with fellow stew, Xandi Oliver, during the car ride back to the boat, which coincided with the season finale.

Barbie’s meltdown prompted her to hastily pack her bags and leave the boat. Before walking away from the St. David, she also made the decision to end her relationship with Kyle due to his unacceptable behavior.

Upon observing Barbie’s departure, Bosun Ben Willoughby shared his thoughts on the matter in an Instagram story Q&A on May 30th.

“One fan questioned whether Barbie intentionally bailed in order to avoid taking Kyle home to her parents.”

Ben acknowledged, “To give her credit, she did attempt to adapt to a different setting. However, it was inevitable that she would reach her breaking point. She is not accustomed to being a full-time live aboard yachtie and has not experienced working with a crew like ours.”

Despite Barbie’s struggles adjusting to life on the St. David, the Bosun, with his extensive experience in the yachting industry, was able to provide valuable insight to his followers about possible reasons for her difficulty.

Despite her worries about starting a romantic relationship with Kyle and disappointing her family, she still engaged in a feud with Chief Stew Fraser Olender.

Despite Barbie staying for the entire charter season and not quitting, Ben’s explanation provides insight for viewers into her actions during the show.

It is improbable that viewers will witness her return to Below Deck after witnessing her sudden departure from the boat.
